Gracz wciela się w rolę tytułowego Cargo Commandera, pracownika bezdusznej korporacji, którego zadaniem jest przeszukiwanie przydatnych towarów w unoszących się w kosmosie kontenerach.
Kontenery przyciągamy polem magnetycznym, zbieramy rzeczy wartościowe wszak za to płaci nam nasz pracodawca.
Na wyposażeniu mamy broń oraz wiertło które możemy udoskonalać.

Kontenery są ogromne i nigdy się nie kończą a w nich również czyhają na nas niebezpieczeństwa np obcy.
Gdy wejście do kontenera jest daleko nic nie stoi na przeszkodzie oby w ścianie wywiercić dziurę i dostać się do kontenera. W ten sposób możemy również wysłać obcych na drugi koniec galaktyki.

W kontenerach jest różna grawitacja co daje świetną zabawę.
Gra zaczyna się tutorialem więc spokojnie nauka nie jest trudna.

Your responsibilities are simple: travel through the vast reaches of wormhole-filled space salvaging priceless cargo from alien infested containers. The work, however, is hard, honest, and hairy: punch and shoot deadly mutants in the face, while traveling between your ship and containers. Jockey for promotions with thousands of other Cargo Commanders in the galaxy, collect over 80 different cargo types, all the while earning your way back home.
